Success Stories

Welcome to Coach Becky’s Success Stories page.   This page was created to share the success that members have had while participating in the 30 and 60 day challenges as well as the week challenges that I have held.

January 7, 2013 was the first day of the Coach Becky’s 60 Day Jump Start to a New You.  There were over 20 participants in the challenge.  Participants were weighed, measured, and received a BMI%.  The overall winner would be the participant that had the highest percent decrease based on weight loss, BMI% decrease and inches lost.  Tori Ball was the winner of the 60 Day Jump Start to a New You.  She lost 12.5 pounds and had a 18.5% decrease in inches lost, BMI% and weight loss.  Woo Hoo!!  She won a 3 month membership plus $150 cash for her efforts.  😀

This is an email I received from Dorothy Nagle, one of my participants in the April 2013 “Drop a Size in 30 Days” challenge:

August 17, 2013

Dear Becky,
I am very happy to say that I think I have reached my target weight. (although I may go down a little bit more….. ). I started this plan in April, and weighed 140. On Thursday I weighed 120. I’m 5’2″, and 64 years old, but I kind of think that 120 is a reasonable weight for me (open to any input, here).  Here’s what I did:
1) I have kept track of what I eat (i.e. journal) including what I ate and how many calories at each meal. I have found that 4 meals per day works for me.
2) one of those meals is Shakeology. I usually make it with water and some frozen fruit.
3) I have tried to stay at the 1200-ish calorie mark, as you suggested, and I make sure that I burn more calories than I eat, each day
4) I use a “Fit Bit”, which is a souped up pedometer, which keeps track of how many steps  I take, how many flights of stairs I climb, how many miles I walk/run/dance and how many calories I burn.

I have to say, that it was a lot easier when my husband was traveling (several months) but I have stuck to it since he has come home. He is supportive, but has a sweet tooth and sometimes leads me astray…….

Now that I have reached what I think is the weight I want, how do I stay there? My exercise is about the same as when I did the “drop a size” challenge, except that I am running a bit more and have added some strength exercises as well. Should I eat more calories each day and match that to the calories I burn , or maybe bump up to 1350 or 1400 Cal? What are your thoughts?

By the by, I had to go buy new jeans yesterday; the size 8’s and 6’s I had were too big and I had to get size 4’s. Sorry, I had to brag a little …..

Thanks,
Dorothy

This email was definitely worth sharing!  Thanks Dorothy for allowing me to make it public.  😀  Dorothy is from California and joined the “Drop a Size in 30 Days” challenge and participated online.  I am hoping that one day I will be able to meet Dorothy in person.  She is PROOF, that you can participate in a challenge group “virtually”.
